Ancient Roman Architecture

The Ancient Roman Empire decided to create their own style of architecture by tweeking with the Greek style. They also gained knowledge from neighboring areas to find a way of creating hydrolics and the construction of arches. The main contribution of the Romans during this time period was the way they empowered the use of public spaces. Not only were the spaces for public notice but also political propoganda. They wanted the shock and awe experience which they claimed through the use of relief, rare materials, and a larger than life size. The first photo below is of the Colosseum, the second photo of the Aqueducts of Rome, and the third photo is of The Pantheon.
