American Colonial: France Decorative Arts

Yet again, decorative art seems to now take on the role of most furniture pieces inside a home. Paintings are still a popular decoration to any room and ornamenting the furniture helped to express their artistry. Windows are made with small and large casements and sashes. Dormer windows are popular too (which are doors with vertical planks or panels). Color is now a growing sensation with blue and green dominating interiors in New France until the end of the 17th century.
