American Colonial: Germany and Holland Furniture

“Dutch interiors with tiles, ceramics, textiles, and paintings are more colorful than English ones. As many settlers are merchants, interiors often exhibit objects from around the world. Furniture in the New Netherlands reproduces Dutch prototypes. As in other colonies, furniture may be brought from home or imported. Typical furnishings include seating, tables, and storage pieces. Beds are sometimes built into wall paneling usually near the fireplace.”
